On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, the San Juan School District Board of Education held their monthly meeting at the District Office. Here are a few highlights from the meeting: Individuals retiring at the end of the school year were recognized by the board, and thanked for their time spent with the district. The district has 14 retirees this year, 7 of whom were present at board meeting. Combined, our retirees have over 400 years of service with the district. New Principal named at Monument Valley High School

On May 14, 2013, the San Juan School District Board of Education approved Dr. Sylvia McMillan as the new principal for Monument Valley High School.  Dr. Douglas E. Wright, Superintendent of Schools, stated, “we are very pleased that the District was able to hire a highly-qualified candidate to fill the Monument Valley High School principal position and we believe that Dr. McMillan will be an outstanding educational leader for the school.”  Dr. Sylvia McMillan has a Ph.D in Educational Leadership and has over three decades of leadership experience in various busines …

At the May 14, 2013 San Juan School District Board Meeting, retirees for the 2012-13 school year were recognized, and personally thanked for their many years of service with the district. Each retiree was presented a nice bag with the district logo, and a pot with an artist’s depiction of the geographic area he/she worked in. The district has fourteen retirees this year (11 Certified and 3 Classified), and seven of those were able to attend this meeting.
