[This post is specific to San Juan School District Employees.]

We wanted to bring you up to speed on a few changes that will affect payroll for January 2013.

As you may be aware, we have converted to a new financial system (instead of IFAS, we are now using ALIO). January is the first month that we are actually running payroll from ALIO, and as such, some things will be handled a little differently than they have been in the past. PLEASE BE AWARE:

-Check stubs will now be EMAILED to employees, instead of sent to schools or mailed to homes. If you wish to check the email address we have listed for you, please contact Karla Eberling (keberling1@sjsd.org, or 435-678-1214). If there is no email address listed for you, your check stub will be mailed to your home. Please be advised, however, that it may take a few days for the stub to get to you.

-Since we are processing payroll for the first time from ALIO this month, we have decided to move pay day up to January 28th. That way, if there are mistakes or someone is missed we will have time to correct it before our regular pay day-which would have been January 31st. So, if your paycheck is not in your bank account by the end of the day on January 28th, please contact the Payroll Office.

-Also, please pay EXTRA attention to your pay stubs in January. We have reviewed employee payroll records and hopefully have not missed anything in the transition from IFAS to ALIO. However, there is always the possibility that something was overlooked. PLEASE COMPARE your January check stub to your December check stub, to make sure that all deductions and pay rates are correct. If there is a mistake or a problem, please contact the Payroll Office.

-Just a reminder-your January check might be slightly less than your December paycheck, because social security withholding and federal tax tables have changed. However, it shouldn’t be dramatically different.

Thank you for your patience during this transition. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call, or email.
