Have you ever given nickels to MES? We are trying to earn money for a statue for our new school. We’re trying to collect nickels with Monticello on the back. A.R. is a tool to help teachers find students reading goal.  A.R. asks a series of questions to answer.  Quizzes are available on textbooks, supplemental materials, magazines, fiction and non-fiction books. The school is doing the play Peter Pan. The play is on April 15th, Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m. and later in the evening at 7:00 p.m. This play is about the Darling family. Wendy the oldest, takes care of her younger brothers John, and Michael and Nana the dog. A young boy comes along named Peter Pan, and his little sidekick Tinker Bell. Peter Pan takes Wendy and the boys on a big adventure in Neverland.   We hope that you come to this wonderful play that the cast and the director put together. HAVE FUN AT THIS EVENT!!!!!!!!

What happens in Mr. Boyle’s Classroom!!!  Mr. Boyle first assigns the morning workshop then we go to ether library or fine arts. Then we come back and go to the carpet and we talk about the schedule.  Mr. Boyle tells us who goes to P.E.  He then gives the other half the class math.  After that we go to reading groups , computer,  go to Recess then lunch.  After lunch we go back to class and do afternoon workshop and then we do math and take a quiz.  Recess is next and he reads a book and then we do art and do the Five ups and it&# …

Mrs. Montgomery , the  librarian  at MES has worked for us 7 years and will work  here about 5-6 more years and has lived in Monticello 22 years. What she likes about her job is the kids and watching us learn to read and love books. Outside of school she likes to sew, quilt, read, and try new things in cooking. She did not always want to be a librarian but she was always working in one in collage, and high school. She makes a wonderful difference in our school!

Last Monday I interviewed Principal Holt. She has been working at Monticello elementary for 2 years as principal and 20 years just as a teacher. Last Friday 1/23/13 I Interview Mrs. Bird.  She has been working at MES for about 4 years. Her job at MES is a Reading and Math Interventionist. On 1/31/14 at 1:00P.M, I interviewed Mrs. Reeve. She is the cook manager and has been working here for 6 years. I asked her why she wanted to be a cook, and she said to be around kids. I also asked her when she began to cook, she said when she was 4 years old.   I asked her what do she likes to cook, and she said cinnamon rolls, pizza, and chili. Mrs. Bunker is a 2nd grade teacher.  Mrs. Bunker has worked here for 27 years  and she wants to stop teaching  in 3 to 4 years. Mrs. Bunker became a teacher because her mom was a teacher and so she got to help her mom teach.  Mrs. Bunker like to teach because she likes to help kids that struggle and to challenge kids that learn easily.
