1. A majority of students improved MAP scores in Language Usage, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. Thanks for the extra effort! 2. Most students, staff, and faculty were flexible with the MAP testing schedule. Ella Redhouse worked extra hard to complete the make-up tests – Thank You! 3. Audience members were supportive and encouraging toward the many students who were publicly recognized for the improvements in academic knowledge and skills. Let’s keep the focus on learning. 4. 1. Students, teachers, and staff cooperated with each other during the start of MAP Testing. 64% of the students who took the LA test improved since the fall, 75% improved on the Reading test, and 62% improved on the Science test! Continue to focus on improving . . . go slowly, re-read, look for answers in the text, and make best selections. 2. The focus writing team worked hard to include parent, teacher, student, staff, district, and state feedback in the Focus School Improvement Plan; additional input (tasks and budget items) is needed. 3. 1. Eighth graders started to accumulate green circles in YPP (they had 1 green circle and now have 4)! Watches are still available for students who show growth in either Math or Language Arts during January. Content area teachers will start administering YPP tests as part of the regular curriculum this week (Math 7 = Tuesday, LA 7 & 8 = Thursday). 2.
