The Miss Indian Broken Trail (MIBT) Pageant was entertaining; thank you to Wesley Jones and the Junior Class for coordinating everything. Congratulations to our new MIBT Princess, Malika Oldman, and thanks to our former princess, Alliyah Chavez! 2. The scavenger hunt was a popular activity this week; thank you to Rebecca Blue and the Sophomore Class for coordinating the various Native American Month activities. 3. 1. Our 8th & 10th graders completed a career and interest inventory, along with the ACT Explore and Plan tests. Results will arrive in December.   2. The horseback riding event was hilarious! Thanks to the student partnerships for participating and for the sophomores for scheduling.   3. Midterm was on Friday; everyone is ready for Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) which occur on Wednesday, November 20, from 5-7 pm, at the Red Mesa Chapter House.   4. 1. Benchmark testing was completed thanks to cooperation of teachers, support staff, and students. A special thanks for extra assistance and flexibility goes to Mrs. Redhouse, Ms. Nakai, and Mrs. Reynolds. The tests were challenging and provide the impetus for all of us to step up efforts for excellence.   2. The Veteran’s Day Assembly was cold, but the singing was fun and we learned about the dress blue uniform. 1. We are preparing for Winter Sports; junior high girls basketball begins at 6 am on Monday. Open Gym for high school boys is Monday & Wednesday (3:15-5:50 pm); girls will have Open Gym on Tuesday & Wednesday. The first day of practice for high school basketball is November 11. 2. Totals for Bun / Jewelry Day showed the faculty in the lead with 8, followed by 11th & 7th graders with 5. Next Friday will be Red, White, and Blue Day along with a Veteran’s Day Assembly. 3.
